Why I eat healthy.

I'm Chef Nina and I love to eat! I started cooking when I was young and was fortunate enough to have a mom who let me play in the kitchen. I remember the first recipe I made was banana bread from a sesame street book. I have always been drawn by curiosity to the kitchen and I love that you get to eat what you make! That's the best part :)


I hope you find what you read on my blog helpful.

It gives me JOY to know that what I share is helping someone succeed and shine in their own life.


I'm a human being having very human experiences. I believe we are all one and are meant to share what we learn to help someone suffer less.

In my soul, I will always be a student and I leave myself open to learning and adapting to new things as they make sense.



Eat Well, Feel Well


I know when I eat better I feel better. I used to have a long list of unhealthy symptoms. And as active as I was, I always had this ongoing feeling of not feeling well. I was overweight, had bad acne my entire life, night sweats, heartburn, canker sores, mood swings, severe menstrual cramps, nausea and the list went on and on.


I felt like I was muscling my way through life. Burning out all my energy and looking for any diet or pill that could help me lose weight.


I have always been active. I ran a lot, I went to the gym and I did all the things I thought I was supposed to do to lose weight and feel good. But nothing worked.


It wasn't until I heard the statistic that 85% of losing weight is food. Now, I'll be honest I have no idea where that stat came from at the time, but for some reason hearing this stopped me in my tracks and I believed this info I heard as truth.

It just made sense to me. It was also something I realized I could control.


I owned a restaurant at the time and I started to eat things I didn't offer on my menu...(a whole other blog I can write on why my restaurant failed.)

I started to nourish and detox my body with whole foods. And I'm a new person.


I don't count calories.


I surround myself with nourishing foods, so I eat nourishing foods.


I gained an understanding of the cells in our body and what they like to be their best.

If I want a healthy body, I need healthy organs and healthy cells make those organs. So now I think about those tiny cells in my body absorbing what I put in it.


I look at food as something my body is processing for me. And I can make it as easy or hard on my system as I want.

My Closing Message

I know you believe like I do that we deserve to feel good. And that we can do that through food and lifestyle choices.
